Feature 1
A Pro organizer creates and manages one private iCloud fridge. Accepted read/write invitees can collaborate in its Fridge and Shop without a separate subscription.
Why Family Fridge?
Speed to value plus privacy-first defaults—so the first session earns the install.
A Pro organizer creates and manages one private iCloud fridge. Accepted read/write invitees can collaborate in its Fridge and Shop without a separate subscription.
Pro customers and accepted shared-fridge participants can mark items low or out, update Shop, and communicate buying intent. Pulse is read-only history derived from those changes.
With active Family Fridge Pro, scan a grocery receipt on supported devices and review normalized item suggestions before saving. Manual entry remains the fallback.
Questions
The questions people ask right before they hit Download.
Yes. A Pro organizer can create and manage a private iCloud household; only that organizer can invite people and administer sharing. Apple makes its records available only after a specified recipient accepts the private read/write invitation. An accepted participant can update the shared Fridge and Shop without a separate subscription. This is separate from App Store Family Sharing. CloudKit delivery may take time, and Family Fridge does not promise continuous monitoring of the organizer’s subscription. You can instead keep a local-only fridge on this iPhone with Pro.
Receipt scanning is a personal Pro feature, and camera access is used only when you choose it. Raw receipt images and the full OCR transcript are not saved, but normalized grocery item suggestions can remain in an unfinished local Quick Add draft until you add or discard them, clear fridge data, or remove the app. Manual entry is available with personal Pro and to an accepted read/write participant collaborating in the shared Fridge and Shop.
Family Fridge does not require a Family Fridge account. An Apple Account may be required by the App Store to purchase or restore Family Fridge Pro. Pro is an auto-renewable subscription required to create or manage a shared fridge, edit a local-only fridge, scan receipts, and use widgets. Accepted read/write iCloud participants can update that shared Fridge and Shop without a separate subscription. This is separate from App Store Family Sharing.
Local-only fridge records, drafts, and preferences stay in app-owned containers on this iPhone. If you enable sharing, the household’s fridge name, member display names, food records, shopping choices and claims, derived Pulse activity, and synchronization metadata are stored in the owner’s private iCloud database and made available through Apple’s CloudKit service only to specified recipients who accept the owner’s private read/write invitation. Drafts, raw receipt images, and the full OCR transcript are not added to the shared household. The shared app group contains the item-level cache needed by the widget. Family Fridge does not send fridge data to Synap1e-operated servers and does not include analytics, advertising, or tracking.
An invited participant can choose Leave Family Fridge. CloudKit removes only that participant, the organizer’s shared fridge continues, and the last synchronized fridge remains on that iPhone as a private local copy without further household updates. The owner can choose Stop Sharing, which revokes invited access but retains the owner’s local copy and underlying records in the owner’s private iCloud custom record zone. The owner can separately choose Delete Shared Fridge from iCloud to permanently delete that zone and shared history while keeping the latest private local copy. Copies already synchronized to other devices and Apple-managed backups are not erased.
For a local-only fridge, Clear Fridge Data removes fridge items, shopping choices, activity, unfinished drafts, recovery backups, and inventory-derived widget content from this iPhone while keeping preferences such as the fridge name and haptics setting. It is unavailable while connected to a shared fridge; first use Leave Family Fridge as a participant or Stop Sharing as the owner, then clear the private local copy. The owner can instead choose Delete Shared Fridge from iCloud to permanently delete the retained private CloudKit custom record zone and shared history while keeping the latest private local copy. That action does not erase copies already synchronized to other devices or Apple-managed backups, and Synap1e cannot view or delete those records on the user’s behalf. Clear Fridge Data also does not cancel Pro or erase the separate widget access record.
